Ingredients
  • Chicken(cut into small pieces) – 1kg
  • Garlic cloves 4nos
  • Onion(chopped) – 2cups
  • Green chillies 7nos
  • Tomato sauce – 1tsp
  • Chilly sauce – 1tsp
  • Soya Sauce – 1tsp
  • Pepper – 1/4tsp
  • Meat masala – 1tsp
  • Red color(A little) –
  • Curry leaves(Few) –
  • Oil for frying –
  • For marination: –
  • Chilly powder – 2tsp
  • Coriander powder 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  • Meat masala – 1/2tsp
  • Pepper – 1/2tsp
  • Ginger(garlic paste – 1 tsp) –
  • Curd – 2tbsp
  • Tomato sauce – 2tsp
  • Chilly sauce – 2tsp
  • Soya Sauce – 1tsp
  • Red color(A pinch, Tandoori) –
  • Salt 1tsp
Instructions
  1. For preparing Kerala Style Chilly Chicken, wash the chicken well and drain out excess water.
  2. Marinate the chicken pieces with the ingredients for marination for about 2 hours.
  3. Fry the marinated chicken pieces in oil.
  4. Remove excess oil by placing them on a tissue.
  5. Heat little oil in a pan.
  6. Fry garlic, till it turns brown.
  7. Add onions and fry, till they turn brown.
  8. Add green chillies and saute for a while.
  9. Add fried chicken pieces followed by the sauces and saute for sometime.
  10. Add pepper powder, meat masala, a pinch of color mixed in 2 tbsp of water and salt, if required.
  11. Stir for sometime on a low flame.
  12. Remove from flame.
