Masala Gherkins With Beans
Kovakka/Thendli with beans – very simple n tasty

Ingredients
  • Gherkins(split it into 4 halves, Kovakka) –
  • or –
  • Broccoli – 2small
  • or –
  • Cauliflower(remove the florets) – 1whole
  • Bean seeds – 1
  • Garlic paste – 2tsp
  • Oil 4tbsp
  • Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds together(Jeerakam) – 1tsp
  • Salt 1/2tsp
For masala:-
Instructions
  1. Mix together all the masala powders except garlic paste in a plate.
  2. Heat oil in a flat bottom pan.
  3. :- It should have a lid to close of its size.
  4. Add mustard and cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
  5. Add garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  6. Add powders to it and saute for a minute.
  7. :- It should get mixed with the garlic and oil.
  8. Add veggies to it and salt and saute till the vegetables get covered with the masalas.
  9. Close with the lid and keep this for say 20 – 25 mins until its done.
  10. :- Remember to saute in 5 mins interval.
  11. :- If u think the quantity of veggies are more, then add the powders a bit more (turmeric n garam masala only). :- Also add oil if required in between. :- Also remember to keep the gas simmer to its maximum( say on 2 level)
