  1. Heat milk in a pan and when it boils and starts to rise, add raw rice.
  2. Keep the flame low and stir continuously until the quantity reduces to one-half.
  3. Add sugar and powdered cardamom.
  4. Roast cashewnuts and raisins in ghee and add it to the payasam.
