Ingredients
  • Chicken – 500gm
  • Bay leaves(Karuga/Vazhana ela) – 2
  • Cinnamom(Karugapatta) – 4gm
  • Fenugreek powder(Uluva) – 3gm
  • Garlic paste – 60gm
  • Ginger Paste – 40gm
  • Ginger(finely chopped) – 10gm
  • Bajra powder – 3gm
  • Vegetable oil 60gm
  • Butter – 100gm
  • Onion paste – 200gm
  • Chilly powder – 100gm
  • Spinach(ground and made into puree, Paalak/Cheera) – 100gm
  • Tomatoes – 180gm
  • White pepper powder 3gm
  • Water 40gm
  • Salt(As reqd) –
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add bay leaves, cinnamon and make them splutter.
  3. Add finely chopped ginger, ginger-garlic paste, onion paste, fenugreek powder, chilly powder and tomatoes. Fry for sometime.
  4. Add paalak puree, water, bajra powder and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
  5. Heat butter in a separate bowl.
  6. Add chicken pieces and fry until they turn golden brown.
  7. Place chicken pieces in paalak mixture, add salt, white pepper powder and cook them until they are done.
