  1. Chop the Bitter gourd
  2. chop the onion, tomato, red chili
  3. in a pan heat the oil and temper the mustard, broken urad dal, fennel seed, fenugreek seed
  4. add curry leaves and onion and saute it until the onion turn into brown
  5. add tomato and red chili and mix well
  6. add salt and turmeric powder and mix it
  7. now add bitter gourd, sambar powder, kuzhambu milagai podi and mix well
  8. add tamarind water and mix it and allow to cook for 5 minutes
  9. add required water and to cook for 5 minutes
  10. add coconut and jaggery paste and mix well and allow to cook until the bitter gourd get cook and gravy becomes thick
  11. now pavakkai puli kulambu is ready. garnish with coriander leaves. serve with rice
