Poondu Puli Kuzhambu
Poondu puli Kuzhambu is a traditional recipe made in Tamil Nadu. Ingredients
  • Garlic 15 no. –
  • Small onion 10 no. –
  • Tomato : 1 no –
  • red chili 2 no. –
  • Sambar masala powder 2 tsp –
  • Kuzhambu Milagai powder 2 tsp –
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp –
  • Salt to taste –
  • tamarind water 1/2 cup –
  • coconut paste 1/5 cup –
  • To temper –
  • Oil: 2 tbsp –
  • Sesame oil 2 tbsp –
  • mustard 1/4 tsp –
  • cumin seed 1/5 tsp –
  • Fenugreek seed 1/5 tsp –
  • curry leaves 1 sprinkle –
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil and saute the garlic and chopped onion for 2 minutes
  2. add chopped tomatoes and mix well
  3. add sambar masala powder, kuzhambu milagai powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  4. Add tamarind water and allow to cook for 5 mins
  5. add coconut paste and mix well
  6. add required water and allow to cook for 10 minutes
  7. Once the gravy becomes thick consistency, temper the mustard, fenugreek seeds, cumin seed, red chili and curry leaves and transfer to the gravy
  8. now poondu puli kuzhambu is ready
