Instructions
  1. For preparing puliupma, extract the tamarind and a make a thick paste of tamarind pulp.
  2. In a bowl pour in the tamarind pulp and rice flour. Mix it to a consistency like that of idly batter.
  3. Take a heavy kadai and heat 4 teaspoon of oil.
  4. Season it with mustard seeds, red chillies and hing.
  5. Once the mustards start cracking add the rice-tamarind batter mixture.
  6. Let the mixture cook on low flame for sometime. Add a little oil if required for roasting.
  7. Make it into a upma consistency.
  8. Puliupma is ready.
