  • Sago(Chawari) – 1cup
  • Potatoes(peeled and cubed) – 300g
  • Green chillies(finely chopped) – 3nos
  • Chilly powder – 1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder(A pinch) –
  • Curry leaves(finely chopped) – 1spring
  • Coriander leaves(chopped) – 1spring
  • Cashew nuts(chopped) – 5g
  • Water(As reqd) –
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing sago vada¦s, soak sago in water for 1 hour. Drain it, put it in a bowl and keep it aside.
  2. Cook the potatoes in a pressure cooker with water and a pinch of salt.
  3. Drain the water and mash the potatoes with a fork.
  4. Mix in the mashed potatoes with the soaked sago.
  5. Add in green chillies, chilly powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves, cashew nuts and salt. Mix it well.
  6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  7. Shape it in the form of vadas and deep fry it in oil till it becomes crispy on both the sides.
  8. Sago vada¦s are ready. Serve hot with chutney.
