  1. For preparing special green gram curry, heat oil in a large pan and fry the cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cardamom pods and turmeric for 3 minutes on low flame.
  2. Saute the onion for 5 minutes until golden.
  3. Add in the powder cumin, coriander powder and garam masala. Saute for further 2 minutes.
  4. Then add the green chilly, garlic and ginger. Fry for 3 minutes on low flame, stirring constantly.
  5. Add in the tomatoes and salt. Mix well and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Toss in the soaked green gram and mix well. Cover and allow it to cook on low flame.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and remove it from the flame.
  8. Special green gram curry is ready. Serve naan, parathas or chapattis.
