Instructions
  1. For preparing spicy idly, first soak raw rice and fenugreek seeds in water.
  2. In another vessel soak split black gram in water separately.
  3. Grind raw rice, fenugreek seeds, split black gram and cooked rice with required water to make a semi thick batter. Keep it overnight to ferment.
  4. The next morning, add in the onion, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Mix it well.
  5. Heat oil in a vessel and splutter mustard seeds. Add in split chickpeas and sautT it till it becomes a bit brown. Put this into the batter and mix well.
  6. Grease idly moulds with oil and pour the spicy batter into it.
  7. Steam it in an idly steamer till done.
  8. Spicy idly¦s are ready. Serve hot with chutney.
