Ingredients
  • Tomato(medium size) – 4nos
  • Onions(medium size) – 3nos
  • Aniseed(Perinjeerakam) – 3/4tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1/2tsp
  • Green chillies 2nos
  • Chilly powder – 3/4tsp
  • Dhania powder – 1/4tsp
  • Tumeric powder – 1/2tsp
  • Coconut 1/2cup
  • Cinnamon – 1inch
  • Cloves 2nos
  • Roasted gram(odacha kadala or pottu kadala) – 2tbsp
  • Water 3/4cup
  • Corriander leaves(for garnishing) –
  • Oil(as reqd) –
  • Salt(as reqd) –
Instructions
  1. Take a pan, pour oil & add Aniseed (Perinjeerakam), Cinnamon & Cloves.
  2. Chop onions in such a way that you get square pieces.Add onion & saute till the colour changes.
  3. Add the ginger garlic paste & fry for less than a minute and then add tomato.
  4. Once the tomato is cooked well, add Green chilles, Dhania pwder, Chilli pwdr & turmeric powder. Keep stirring for a while till the masala is cooked.
  5. Grind the coconut & roasted gram into a smooth paste.
  6. Add the ground mixture wth the cooked masala.
  7. Also add water & salt accordingly.
  8. Close the pan with a lid & cook it wel for about 5-7mins in low flame.
  9. Finally once cooked garnish wth corriander leaves.
  10. :- Best suited for idlis & dosas.
