  • Vermicelli(broken into small pieces) - 2 cups
  • Milk - 4 cups
  • Milk Maid - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 6 tbsp
  • Cardamom(crushed, Elakka) - 2 nos
  • Cashew nuts - 1/2 cup
  • Raisins(Unakka munthiri) - 3 tbsp
  • Water - 4 cups
  • Salt(A pinch) -

Instructions
  1. For preparing yummy vermicelli payasam, heat ghee in a vessel. Fry the cashew nuts and raisins in it. Keep it aside.
  2. In the same ghee, add vermicelli and fry till golden brown.
  3. Pour water and allow it to cook on low flame.
  4. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the vessel.
  5. Boil the milk.
  6. When the vermicelli is half cooked, pour in the boiling milk and mix well. Allow it to cook till soft.
  7. Add milk maid, raisins, cashew nuts and cardamom. Stir it well.
  8. Put a pinch of salt and mix well. Remove it from the flame.
  9. Yummy vermicelli payasam is ready. Serve hot.
