Ingredients
  

  • 3 cup Aval : 2
  • Onion : 2 nos
  • Potatoes : 2 nos
  • Carrot : 2 nos
  • Ginger : 1 piece
  • Coriander leaves : 1 pinch
  • 3 nos Green chilli : 2
  • Salt : to taste
  • Red chilli powder : 1 tsp (only if necessary to make spicy)
  • Turmeric powder : 1 tspn
  • Grated Coconut : ½ cup

Instructions
 

  • To soak the aval, pour some water in the aval and immediately remove the water from the aval and keep it aside.
  • Clean the onion, potato, carrot, ginger, green chilli and coriander leaves and then cut them into small pieces and keep them aside.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and then add the cut onion, potato, carrot, ginger, green chilli and coriander leaves.
  • Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and stir the mix well.
  • Allow to cook this mix in low flame for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the soaked aval into this mix and stir it well and allow to cook it for about 5 minutes (please do not add water).
  • Enter Step
  • Add the grated coconut with the aval upma and then serve it as break fast or with the evening tea / coffee.
