Ingredients

  • 250 g Carrot
  • 1 Handful Kaima biriyani rice
  • 1 Cup Milk powder
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1 Litre Milk

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the carrots into small pieces. Add enough water and cook for 10 minutes or until done.
  • Wash and drain the rice properly.
  • Cook rice in required water until done. Let the water dry up.
  • When both carrot and rice are well cooked, let it cool a bit.
  • Grind the carrot into a smooth paste by adding the same water that we have cooked the carrot.
  • Crush the cooked rice for 2 seconds with the help of a blender. Don't make it a paste.
  • Add the cooked rice and carrot paste into a saucepan.
  • Add milk and mix well, there should not be any lumps.
  • Add milk powder (in this stage you can add 1/2 cup of condensed milk instead of adding milk powder and adjust the quantity of adding sugar)
  • Now add sugar and mix well.
  • Add a pinch of salt, bring it to boil for 10 minutes in low to medium flame.
  • Tasty and delicious Carrot Rice Payasam is ready now. Serve chilled or not.
