Pachha chakka chula : 10
Raw jackfruit flesh
Salt : to taste
Turmeric powder : ½ tsp (only if required)
Green chilli powder : 1 tsp
Chopped onion : ½ cup
Coconut / refined oil : as reqd
Instructions
Remove the chakka chula (raw jackfruit flesh) from the chakka ( jackfruit), clean and cut into small pieces as shown in below.
Heat oil in a frying pan and put the chopped onion along with turmeric powder into the oil and stir it for 4 - 5 minutes.
When the colour of onion turns into golden, add some salt and chilli powder and stir it well.
Add the chakka chula pieces into the mix and stir it well.

If required add about ¼ cup of water in this mix.
Cover the mix and allow to cook it in steam for about 10 -15 minutes (or till it gets cooked well).
Chakka Upperi is ready and it can be served as side dish for poori / chappathi or can be served with tea / coffee / butter milk etc.
