Take the boneless chicken pieces in a bowl.
Take all the ingredients for marinating the chicken.
Rub the paste onto the chicken pieces and marinate for 1 hour.
Next, melt butter in a pan.
Shallow fry the marinated chicken pieces in the butter.
Flip it when one side is done.
Next, melt 1 tbsp butter in a pan.
Fry the chopped onion and saute.
When the color chnges, add ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp each. Saute well until raw smell goes.
When the onions are browned add the pureed tomato. Let it boil well until the raw smell of tomato goes.
Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala. Fry the masalas for few minutes in low flame.
Add 3/4th cup hot water and stir. Bring it to boil and let the gravy thicken a bit.
Add the fried chicken pieces. Add salt and keep simmering.
Cook for 10 minutes and let the gravy thicken. Switch off the flame. Add 3 tbsp cream.
Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves. Chicken Tikka Masala is ready.
