Kunjipathilu In Beef Curry

Traditional Malabar recipe - Kunjipathilu in beef curry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ Rice flour
  • Hot water as required
  • Salt to taste
  • 350 g Beef
  • 2 Onion
  • 2 Green chilly
  • 1 Tomato
  • Curry leaves as required
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • 1 ½ Coriander powder
  • 1 ½ Coconut milk 2nd milk), 1 cup (1st milk
  • Coconut oil as required

Instructions
 

  • Mix rice flour salt and hot water to make a smooth and medium thick batter.
  • Make small balls out of it and press it lightly.
  • Steam cook the rice balls and keep it aside.
  • In a pressure cooker sautT onion and green chilly in coconut oil.
  • Add tomato, coriander leaves and curry leaves and sautT again.
  • Mix in the garam masala, beef, turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, salt and water as required. Stir well and cook it with closed lids. 3-4 whistles may be enough.
  • Convert the cooked curry to a big vessel.
  • Mix in the 2nd coconut milk with the curry.
  • Add the steam cooked rice balls in the curry and mix well.
  • Mix in the 1st coconut milk and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve it after 15 minutes.
