Mango - Sesame Spicy Chutney

An awesome mango chutney with sesame

Ingredients
  

  • Raw sour mangoes - 2 nos
  • 1 cup Sesame seeds Ellu
  • 1 cup Green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 cup Garlic bulbs
  • 3 tsp Ginger chopped
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida powder Kayam
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cup Curry leaves
  • 4 nos Dry red chillies
  • 350 ml Refined oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • Peel the mangoes and cut into small pieces.
  • Add oil to a frying pan and heat. Add the mango pieces, green chillies, ginger and turmeric powder. Fry till mango pieces are smooth.
  • To another frying pan add the sesame seeds and fry(without oil) until brown. Grind into a coarse powder.
  • Add the fried mango pieces, green chillies and ginger to a grinding jar and grind. Add salt and sesame seed powder. Take the dough into a bowl and keep aside.
  • Add oil to a frying pan and heat. Add asafoetida and then splutter mustard seeds. Add the garlic bulbs, then the red chillies and finally the curry leaves and fry.
  • Add this to the mango and other ingredients dough along with oil in the pan. Mix thoroughly.
  • Best with rice and other breakfast snacks.
