Parippu Kuzhambu

Ingredients
  

  • Tamarind lemon size
  • 1/4 cup Toovar dal Tuvara parippu
  • 1/2 cup Chana dal
  • 4 nos Red chillies
  • 1 cup Coconut grated
  • 1 tsp Gingelly oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Raw rice powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds Uluva
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • Salt As reqd

Instructions
 

  • For preparing parippu kuzhambu, soak chana dal, toovar dal and red chillies in water for a few minutes.
  • Grind them with grated coconut.
  • Mix gingelly oil and raw rice powder and make this mixture into small balls.
  • Soak tamarind in water as usual to make tamarind water.
  • From the balls made above, take two balls and mix with raw rice powder and water and add this to the tamarind water. Add turmeric powder and salt and after some time add the remaining balls and cook for a few minutes.
  • Fry mustard seeds, fenugreek and red chillies in coconut oil and add to the mixture.
  • Parippu kuzambu is ready.
