Pollachi Chicken Masala

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken Remove skin and chop into pieces. Wash it and keep it aside
  • Mustard seeds Few
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 1 no Red onion diced
  • 1 no Tomato chopped
  • 1 tbsp Baba meat masala

TO marinate the chicken overnight or for 2 hours(crush or make fine paste):

  • 1 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Fennel seed powder Perumjeerakam
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 nos Star anise crushed, Thakkolam
  • 2 leaves Bay leaf Karuga ela
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • Ginger A small piece

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the chicken pieces with prepared masala paste and keep overnight in fridge or keep aside for 2 hours. Meanwhile, add 1 tbsp of sunflower oil in a pan and heat it.
  • Add mustard seeds and then add curry leaves.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry in slow heat for a minute.
  • Add 1 glass of water, red onions and 1 diced tomato and fry for 10 minutes in slow heat. 5)Add 1 tbsp of Baba meat masala and the marinated chicken with 1 glass of water.
  • Cook the chicken in a closed vessel for 20 minutes in slow heat.
  • Then add fresh coriander and cook it for 10 mins in medium heat till a semi gravy consistency is reached.
  • Serve the dish with roti and rice.
