Prawn-Beans Thoran

Kerala style prawns(chemmeen) & french beans thoran

Ingredients
  

  • 300 gm Small prawns
  • 200 gm French beans cut into 1 inch length pieces
  • 1 no Onion chopped fine, large
  • 2 cm Ginger chopped
  • 2 nos Garlic pods crushed
  • 3 nos Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp[optional] Cumin powder Jeerakam
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves A few

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in pan.
  • Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add curry leaves.
  • Add onion, ginger and garlic and saute, till it starts to change colour.
  • Add the prawns and green chillies. Fry for sometime.
  • Add beans and fry further.
  • Add 2 tbsp of water and cover the pan and cook.
  • Handmix grated coconut with coriander powder, cumin powder and a little water(to soften).
  • Add this to the pan.
  • Cover and cook for some more time. Mix well.
