For preparing Kappalanga(Papaya) Thoran, first remove the outer skin and the seeds inside the papaya.
Clean it well and finely chop it.
:- You can also grate it.
Pound grated coconut, green chillies, turmeric powder, cumin seeds and garlic in a mixer bowl.
Mix the above with the finely chopped papaya and salt.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
Add the papaya-coconut mixture and mix well.
Cover and cook in a low flame.
Stir occasionally.
After 2 to 3 minutes, remove the lid and stir well.
Continue to cook, till Kaplanga Thoran is done.
Kaplanga Thoran, a nutritious side dish is ready.
