- 1 Cup Moong dal Cherupayar Parippu
- 3/4 Cup Grated coconut
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 No. Green chilly
- 2 Pinches Turmeric powder
- 1 Tbsp Coconut oil
- 2 ½ Cup Water
- Salt as reqd
- 1 Tsp Oil
For Garnishing:
- 1 Tsp Coconut Oil
- Curry leaves Few
Wash and drain the moong dal / cherupayar parippu.
Heat a kadai and add split moong dal/cherupayar parippu and fry till raw smell goes.
In a cooker add this moong dal along with salt, turmeric powder, 1 tbsp coconut oil and 2 cups of water.
Cook for 2-3 whistles, open the cooker and mash with a ladle.
Make a fine paste of grated coconut, green chilly and cumin seeds.
Add this fine paste along with 1/4 cup water to cooked dal and allow to boil.This curry should not be too thick and too loose.
