Fry the onion with oil for 5 mins and make as a paste
chop the onion, coconut, tomato,garlic. and prepare coconut paste, tamarind water
heat the oil and temper the mustard, cumin seed and fenugreek seed
now temper the red chilli and curry leaves
add chopped onion and garlic and saute it for 5 mins, until it turn into brown
add tomato and fry for 5 mins
add salt, turmeric powder and sambar powder and mix well
add tamarind water, mix it and allow to boil for 5 mins
add chopped coconut and mix it
add onion paste and mix well and allow to boil for 2 mins
add chopped brinjal and allow to boil
now add coconut paste and required water and allow to boil until the gravy get thick
mean while clean and fry the dry fish in a pan for 2 mins
add dry fish in the gravy and mix well and allow to boil for 2 mins
now dry fish gravy is ready. serve with rice, idly and dosa
