Soya Chunks Curry

an healthy side dish with soya chunks

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Nutrela soya chunks
  • 1 no Onion
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • 1 no Tomato
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp Garam masala powder
  • Salt As reqd
  • 1 tsp Oil

Instructions
 

  • Wash soya chunks thoroughly. Soak it in enough hot water for ½ an hour. Squeeze out all the water well. Again wash in fresh water and squeeze out the water very well.
  • Cut the soya chunk into 2 - 3 pieces and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Splutter cumin seeds. Add onion and a little salt and sautetill onion turns till light brown colour.
  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the chopped tomato and fry till it is cooked and oil separates on low heat.
  • Add soya chunks and fry well for 5 minutes on low heat.
  • :- Add more oil if necessary.
  • Add 1 cup water and salt to taste and stir.
  • Cover with a lid and allow to cook for 5 mins on a low flame.
  • Transfer the contents to a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
