Tamil Nadu Chicken Biriyani(Kozhi Biryani)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 4 cups Basmathi rice
  • 3 tsp Coriander powder
  • 3 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 2 nos Cinnamon Karugapatta
  • 2 nos Cardamom Elakka
  • 4 nos Cloves Grambu
  • 4 nos Bay leaf Vazhana/Karuga ela
  • 1 small Garlic
  • 1 medium Ginger
  • 1 no Onion big
  • Coriander A small bunch
  • 1 no Tomato medium
  • 5 nos Chillies
  • 4 tsp Ghee & Oil

Instructions
 

  • Peel the skin from the chicken and cut into small pieces.
  • Add all powders and salt and cook in a separate pot.
  • Grind chilli, garlic, ginger, onion, tomato and coriander bunch (grind everything separately).
  • Heat ghee & oil in a cooker.
  • Add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, bay leafs and all the ground ingredients.
  • Fry on a medium fire till the oil comes out.
  • When it becomes yellowish, add the cooked chicken and mix it for 3 mins.
  • Add water.
  • :- For 2 cups of rice, add 3 cups of water.
  • :- Some times in the cooked chicken itself will have some water, so please measure.
  • When it boils, add rice and close the cooker with the weight on.
  • Keep it for 5 mins.
  • Mix well.
