Tomato Chutney | Tomato Vorta

Tomato Chutney, known as "Tomato Vorta" in Bengali, is a beloved condiment that adds a burst of flavor to any meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Nos. Tomato Cut in halves
  • 1 No. Onion Chopped
  • 2 Nos. Green chilly Sliced
  • Curry leaves
  • 6 Cloves Garlic Sliced
  • ¼ Tsp Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Chilly powder
  • Salt as reqd
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Rinse ripe tomatoes under running water and cut into two pieces. Then heat oil in a pan and place tomato pieces like shown in the picture.
  • Add sliced garlic cloves.
  • Then cover the top and cook in low to medium flame for 7-10 minutes.
  • Turn off the flame and remove the skin of tomatoes.
  • Smash it with a smasher.
  • Now add chopped onion, green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Then add chilly powder, salt and sugar. Mix well with a spoon.
  • Finally add lemon juice and combine well.
  • Serve along with any Indian meal.
