Soak the fish for about 30 – 45 minutes in normal water.
After about 45 minutes clean the fishes properly (also remove skin of the fishes) and keep them aside (if necessary they can be cut into pieces)
Grind cleaned Shallots, Red Chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Pepper along with 2 – 3 Tsp water and make a paste. Apply this paste on both sides of the fishes and keep them for some time (add salt only if required).
Heat oil (preferably Coconut Oil) in a Cheenachatti/Frying pan and put the masala coated fishes into the hot oil and fry both sides.
When the fishes are fried properly, transfer them into a serving plate. Maanthal (Dried Sole Fish) fry is ready.
