Step 1

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, 1 tsp full of salt and some oil to the meat and mix well and marinate for about an hour.

Step 2

Take poppy seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, ginger, garlic bulbs and one cup of chopped onions into a small bowl and grind in to smooth paste.

Step 3

Heat oil in a frying pan.

Step 4

Splutter mustard seeds and add cashew and fry until cashew turns brown.

Step 5

Add finely cut tomato pieces and fry
until tomato pieces are cooked to a smooth paste and the oil gets separated.

Step 6

Add the marinated mutton and mix

Step 7

Allow to cook for about 10 mins and add green chillies and curry leaves.

Step 8

Fry for some more time.

Step 9

Add enough salt.

Step 10

Add enough water and simmer it on low flame until it is done.


came out well............tq for the recipe


This can not consider as stew because stew is prepared in coconut milk


There is something wrong in the proportion of ingredients.Way too much of tomatoes(1kg!!),spices(10 cloves!!10cardommoms!!).


Please don`t submit recipes like this I very important part of mutton is that it should be washed and like marinated in some buttermilk or lime juice
