Step 1

Soak flour overnight.

Step 2

In the morning, gently strain the water out.

Step 3

Grate the coconuts and extract thick and thin milk about one and a half litres.

Step 4

Blend the drained flour along with the sugar and coconut milk and stir it well.

Step 5

Keep on low fire and keep stirring till it thickens.

Step 6

Add the butter and when the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, pour it into a greased stainless steel flat dish.

Step 7

Decorate with chopped nuts.


Dear Madam for getting a black color we should add jaggery not sugar thanks how we get black color


please dona, can you tell me how u got the black color for this halwa?i got a white color,when i completed this halwa.or can i add some red color pwder when i mix the ingredients?

Excellent halwa,easy to make,May find some difficulty to stirr it till hardens.A must try one.
