Step 1

For preparing raw banana thoran, first cut the raw banana into small pieces. Wash well and drain.

Step 2

Add salt, turmeric and chilly powder. Add little water and cook.
Keep aside when done.

Step 3

In a wok or kadai, heat oil and aplutter mustard seeds, whole red chilly, curry leaves, cut onions, green chillies, ginger and then add the cooked raw banana and grated coconut. Saute well.

Step 4

Banana Thoran is ready.. enjoy.


appears good even though I will try it tomorrow only.being a Telugu,I was actually looking for a recipe that uses Ava pindi(mustard paste),but I hope this will do as I was eating Malayali food for a long time abroad.
