Step 1

For preparing tasty fish molee, marinate the fish fillets with a mixture of turmeric powder, pepper powder, chilly powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice and salt. Keep it aside for half an hour.

Step 2

Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the marinated fish fillets till light brown. Keep it aside.

Step 3

Heat oil in another vessel. Add in the cinnamon sticks, cardamom and fennel seeds. SautT it for a minute.

Step 4

Add the sliced onions and sautT till transparent.

Step 5

Then add the slit green chillies, salt, curry leaves and ginger-garlic pieces. SautT for few minutes.

Step 6

Toss in the chopped tomatoes and sautT well.

Step 7

Put in turmeric, pepper powder, chilly powder and garam masala . SautT it for a minute.

Step 8

Pour 2 cups of thin coconut milk. Allow the coconut milk to simmer for 5 minutes(do not boil it).

Step 9

Then add the fried fish and cook covered on low heat for 10-12 minutes till the gravy starts to thicken(do not boil it).

10)Last, pour in the thick coconut milk and allow it to simmer for another 5 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 11

Tasty fish molee is ready. Serve hot with bread.
