Step 1

Take the Tur Dal in bowl and wash it thoroughly twice with water. Then Keep the dal under water in the bowl for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Pour the dal in a small pressure cooker and add more water for cooking. Add some salt and boil it.

Step 3

Pour oil in frying pan. Once the oil is heated, add cumin and dry red chilli. After 15 seconds, add the chopped green chilli. Stir it well.

Step 4

Add chopped onion and some salt. Once salt is added with onion, it will release some water. Stir it well till the onion turns half brownish.

Step 5

Then add the chopped tomato and stir well. Add turmeric powder and stir.

Step 6

Then pour the cooked Tur dal as it is in the pan. Stir well and boil for 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 7

Add salt if required. Serve it hot with rice

Step 8

Caution: Tur dal shall be boiled in such a way so as to avoid getting pasted
