The rind contains hydroxy citric acid and is used in anti-obesity drugs.. Kokam butter used as edible fat is nutritive, has antiseptic and antioxidant properties.

Carbohydrates, citric acid, garcinol, vitamin B, potassium, manganese, magnesium, dietary fibre

CULINERY AND OTHER VALUES :
The ripened rind and juice is used in cooking. The dried rind is used in curries.
