  1. For preparing raw mango rice, grind raw mango, grated coconut and red chillies without adding water to a coarse paste. Keep aside
  2. Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds let it splutter.
  3. Then add split bengal gram, split black gram, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Allow it to become a bit brown.
  4. Toss in the dry red chillies and peanuts. Roast until the peanuts turn slightly brown.
  5. Pour in the ground paste and salt. Saute until the moisture evaporates and the oil separates. Remove it from the oven.
  6. Add the cooked rice and mix well until it is coated well. Check and add salt only if required.
  7. Raw mango rice is ready. Serve hot.
