Step 1

Heat ghee in a pressure pan.

Step 2

Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon and mint leaves.

Step 3

Fry for a while.

Step 4

Add onions and green chillies and saute.

Step 5

Add curd and salt.

Step 6

Add the rice along with 1 1/2 cups of water.

Step 7

Close the lid and cook upto 2 - 3 whistles.

Step 8

:- Serve hot with raita or chicken gravy.

I never made Bagara Rice.. I am a Biryani fan and I think 2 years back I tried the Veggie Biryani listed in Pachakam.. After that I got married and never got a chance to cook... My wife make nice dishes... ;) As she went out of city for Work... here I got a chance to cook and again I googled about Bagara Rice.. I remembered Pachakam.. Thought I will try it out.. Just made this Bagara Rice...and I came out absolutely Awesome. Thank you.. Pachakam.. and Reshma for contributing this recipe.. Cheers, Ravi.

This recipe is awesome. It goes good with chicken curry. I would suggest to add one tablespoon of jeera when the ghee becomes hot and then some vegetables like beans, carrots and peas which makes this wonderful.
