Step 1

Heat some oil in a pan.

Step 2

Add the cut cabbage pieces and fry for 3 mins.

Step 3

Add ginger, garlic, green and red chillies, mustard seeds and coriander and sprinkle asafoetida and fry for 5 mins.

Step 4

Sprinkle turmeric powder.

Step 5

Allow it to cool.

Step 6

Add tamarind juice and salt to it. Mix well.

Step 7

Grind it to a fine paste.

Step 8

Season it with mustard seeds and curry leaves.


I tried this recipe.... it came out well..... with hot rice its too good!

This is a hit receipe among my friends. Its almost impossible to make out that this chutney is made out of cabbage ! Very tasty too.
