Step 1

Soak channa overnight and cook till tender.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pan.

Step 3

Fry cashews and raisins and keep aside.

Step 4

In the same ghee, splutter cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.

Step 5

Add washed rice and fry.

Step 6

Add 4 cups water and salt. Keep closed and cook on low flame.

Step 7

Grind masala ingredients into a smooth paste.

Step 8

Heat some oil/ghee and saute chopped onion.

Step 9

Add ground masala and cook till raw flavour leaves.

Step 10

Add diced tomato and saute.

Step 11

Add salt.

Step 12

In a flat vessel, mix the masala and channa.

Step 13

Add the rice and mix gently.

Step 14

Garnish with fried cashews and raisins.

Step 15

:- This pulao smells and tastes better after 5-6 hours.


Dear Trisha, Chickpeas has nothing to do with chicken :) It is channa...Channa pulao


rest of this dish is nice but the main thing is even though i like chicken i think it is cruel to use chick peas. As baby chicken also it is not right. at least wait till the chick peas is older and then make the dish.let me see i will try anyway and let you know. thanks for this recipes.
