Step 1

For preparing chemmeen thenga curry, first grind coconut with cumin seeds, ginger, coriander, chilly powder and turmeric.

Step 2

In a clay pot, add coconut oil. Fry onion in it.

Step 3

Add the ground coconut paste and fry for a while till oil accumulates on top.

Step 4

Add water and cook masala. Add prawns and cook.

Step 5

Add gambooge and cover it and cook well.

Step 6

In a pan, fry garlic, shallots and curry leaves.

Step 7

Add this to the curry. Add salt and coconut milk.

Step 8

When starts to boil, remove from flame. Yummy chemmeen thenga curry is ready. Serve hot.
