Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2

Grease cookie sheets.

Step 3

In a large bowl, cream together the butter flavored shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.

Step 5

Stir in the vanilla.

Step 6

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

Step 7

Gradually stir into the creamed mixture.

Step 8

Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 9

Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Step 10

Bake for 8 - 10 mins in the preheated oven, until light brown.

Step 11

Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 mins, before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 12

***Note : Mexican vanilla extract can be found in Mexican grocery stores. If you can`t find it, feel free to substitute regular vanilla extract.
