Step 1

Heat the sugar and water on a low heat to make a thick syrup.
Remove any scum from the syrup.

Step 2

Add the finely grated coconut and crushed cardamoms. Mix thoroughly.

Step 3

Grease a plate with the ghee and set aside.

Step 4

Turn off the heat while the mixture is still a thick pouring consistency.

Step 5

Add the chopped cashewnuts. Mix thoroughly.

Step 6

Pour the coconut mixture onto the greased plate and quickly spread with a spatula.

Step 7

After a few minutes, cut into diamond-shaped pieces with a sharp knife.

Step 8

:- Store in an airtight container.

This was a good Recipe but mine did not get hard enough to cut into pieces. After following the recipe, I had to bake it and then freeze it to get the consistency of a burfi type of sweet. It was very good though! my husband liked it!
