  • *Falooda sev - 1 packet
    (looks like yellow thin noodles)
    Cold/Chilled milk - 2 - 3 cups
    **Subja/Takmuria - 1 tbsp
    Rose syrup - 1 cup
    (Sharbat Rooh Afza bottle)
    Vanilla ice cream - 1/2 ltr
    Whipped cream can (optional)
    Cherry - 10 nos(optional)
    *You can buy Falooda Sev
    Subja/Takmuria and Rose Syrup from any North Indian Store.


Step 1

Cook falooda sev as per instructions on the packet or cook it in a vessel covered with water.

Step 2

Once it starts boiling, wait for 4 - 5 mins, drain and keep aside.

Step 3

Soak cleaned subja seeds in 3 cups of water for 30 mins by the end of which, the seeds will turn into big sticky seeds.

Step 4

Drain the water in a colander.

Step 5

Chill in refrigerator which is optional.

Step 6

Arrange the glasses in which the faluda is to be served.

Step 7

:- Looks good on long glasses or long white wine glasses.

Step 8

Add 2 tbsp of sev.

Step 9

Top with 1 - 2 tsp of subja seeds.

Step 10

Pour 2 tbsp of syrup on top of that.

Step 11

Tilt glass a bit and pour milk to 1/2 level, carefully.

Step 12

:- Do not disturb the base layers, while pouring.

Step 13

Top with 1 - 2 scoops of vanilla icecream.

Step 14

Add whipped cream on top.

Step 15

Pour little bit of rose syrup on top and place a cherry on top of that.

Step 16

:- Serve with long handled spoons and straw.

Step 17

:- Add more Rose Syrup, for getting desired sweetness.
:- Takmuria seeds form an excellent intestinal cooling agent in the summer season.


i was trying to make falooda & am searching for the receipe atlast i found from pachakam it`s really good we like it. easy to make. thanks.


i want to try this recipe......can i use jelly and stroberry syrup..... pl tell me how can i use...


i didn`t understant wht is subja.i know this recipie is yummy.....pls clarify
