Step 1

For making rice:
1)Half boil rice.

Step 2

Soak tamarind in water for 30 minutes. Mash it and strain it through a strainer.

Step 3

Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.

Step 4

Add Bengal gram and black gram.

Step 5

Add rice followed by salt and tamarind water.

Step 6

Mix well and cover it with a lid and simmer it for 5-7 minutes.

Step 7

:-Serve hot with Onion Raitha.

Step 8

For making onion raitha:
1)Beat curd. Add onion, salt, green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves.

Step 9

Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds.

Step 10

Add it to the raitha and mix well.

Step 11

Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving.
