For making Onion Raitha:
  • Curd - ½ kg
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Onion(finely chopped) - 2 nos
  • Green chilly(finely chopped) - 1 no
  • Ginger(finely chopped) - 1" piece
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) -
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds(Small) - ¼ tsp

  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) -
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds(Small) - ¼ tsp

Instructions
  1. For making rice: 1)Half boil rice.
  2. Soak tamarind in water for 30 minutes. Mash it and strain it through a strainer.
  3. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  4. Add rice followed by salt and tamarind water.
  5. Mix well and cover it with a lid and simmer it for 5-7 minutes.
  6. :-Serve hot with Onion Raitha.
  7. For making onion raitha: 1)Beat curd. Add onion, salt, green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds.
  9. Add it to the raitha and mix well.
  10. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving.
