Step 1

For preparing Italian style rice, heat ghee in a pan and fry the onions lightly.

Step 2

Add the rice, beans and carrot. Allow it to cook for 3 minutes.

Step 3

Add 1 cup water, tomato puree, sugar, salt and cook for another 30 minutes.

Step 4

When the rice is almost cooked, add half the cheese and cook covered for a few minutes.

Step 5

Italian style rice is ready. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and serve hot.
