Step 1

For preparing jawarisi/chowari idly, first cook jawarisi with some water in pressure until done.

Step 2

Fry mustard seeds and chana dal in coconut oil.

Step 3

Add onion, green chillies and fry again.

Step 4

Add curd to the cooked jawarisi.

Step 5

Add the onion mixture to the jawarisi curd combination.

Step 6

Add salt and make a batter out of this.

Step 7

Pour this batter into the idli maker trays after oiling the plate.

Step 8

Steam idlis until done.

Step 9

Hi, I tried this recipe, followed the exact steps given BUT my iddlies turned out soggy and was running all over the iddly plate. However, the batter tasted quite nice.
