Step 1

Murrels are more slimy than other fishes. Wash thoroughly until the slime is totally removed. Cut them into round pieces.

Step 2

Grind one cup onions, coriander seeds and poppy seeds into a fine paste.

Step 3

Apply this paste, ginger-garlic paste and required salt to the fish pieces and marinate.

Step 4

Take a deep bottomed pan, add
oil and heat. Add the remaining onions and fry until brown. Add
tomato pieces, red chilly powder,
turmeric powder and the drum-stick pieces. Sstir well and fry until the tomato pieces are tender.

Step 5

Now add the marinated fish pieces, enough salt and fry in medium flame, gently turning the fish pieces for about ten minutes.

Step 6

Add some water, mix the contents
well and cook until the fish is totally cooked. Best with rice.
