Step 1

Grind the potatoes into a coarse paste.

Step 2

Heat a sauce pan.

Step 3

Melt the butter and add the potato paste into it.

Step 4

Saute it for a couple of mins.

Step 5

Add milk, double cream and sugar and stir well.

Step 6

Add vanilla essence and cardamom powder.

Step 7

Keep stirring until a thread like consistency is achieved.

Step 8

Now remove it from the fire.

Step 9

In a small wok roast the raisins and cashew nut in ghee.

Step 10

Pour this ghee along with the cashews and raisins on top of the halwa.

Step 11

Allow the halwa to cool for an hour.

Step 12

:- You may refrigerate as well.

Step 13

Once cool your halwa is ready.

nice recipe...i want to try it...i wanted to know that we have to boil it first or straightway grind it? u mean jus peal it n blend it or we have to grind? using water??


I never knew that Potato can be made out into a sweet dish as well...thanx for the recipe.
