Step 1

For preparing special spicy mutton curry, first cut the mutton into small pieces. Bones need not be discarded. Cut the tomatoes into fine pieces. Split the green chillies lengthwise.

Step 2

Add the turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chilly powder and one tea spoon of salt to the mutton pieces and leave to marinate.

Step 3

Add all the ingredients of spicy paste to a blending jar and grind into a fine paste.

Step 4

To a deep bottomed pan add ghee and heat. Splutter mustard seeds. Add the onion pieces, split green chillies and fry till the onion pieces turn brown.

Step 5

Add the tomato pieces and allow to simmer till the volume of tomato pieces reduce to about one fourth and total ingredients blend well into a homogeneous mass.

Step 6

Add the spicy paste and fry till raw smell is gone. Add the marinated mutton pieces and enough salt and stir fry well.

Step 7

Add two cups of water, mix well and simmer in medium flame until the mutton pieces are cooked well.

Step 8

Serve hot.
