Step 1

For preparing tasty fruit cake, preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius.

Step 2

Grease a bread tin with butter and line it with grease proof paper.

Step 3

In a bowl mix in raisins, currants, 1 tbsp of maida, candied lemon and orange peel.

Step 4

Beat the butter and sugar well in another bowl.

Step 5

Add in eggs and beat it again.

Step 6

Then pour in the milk. Add in the remaining maida and baking powder. Mix well.

Step 7

Toss in the fruits and mix well.

Step 8

Pour the mixture in the baking tin and bake it for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Step 9

Leave it out on a rack to cool, turn it over and cut it.

Step 10

Tasty fruit cake is ready. Serve when it becomes room temperature.
